Gibson Ek families may qualify for financial assistance (scholarships) to pay fines and fees.
Scholarships can provide support with items such as class fees, assessment fees (ex. PSAT, AP exam), ASB cards, sports fees, athletic season passes (for family members to attend games), drama event tickets, dance tickets, club participation fees, planners (if in stock), field trips, and more.
Here's how it works:
If you qualify for Free and Reduced-Price Meals and sign or click to give Consent to Disclose Eligibility to District's Local Aid Program (item #7 on the application), when you go online or come to the ASB Bookkeeper’s office to purchase these items, they will show up at a greatly reduced price.
You may apply for assistance any time during the school year.
If you have not submitted a Free and Reduced Price Meals application, please complete that first. Even if you do not intend to use the meal portion of the program, qualifying families will be eligible for additional benefits.
You may apply for Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Application online. Please make sure to sign/click to give Consent to Disclose Eligibility to District's Local Aid Program (item #7). If you do not sign/click to Consent to Disclose Eligibility to District's Local Aid Program (item #7), then your eligibility for Free and Reduced-Price Meals will NOT be shared with Gibson Ek. therefore, we will be unable to help you financially with any of the above-mentioned fees (i.e. ASB card, sports participation fee, class fees, etc.).
If, however, you do give Consent to Disclose Eligibility to District's Local Aid Program (item #7), that information will be shared with the Gibson Ek bookkeeper and you will receive many things at reduced or no cost to you. Your information is kept confidential.
If you have already submitted a Free and Reduced-Price Meals form and qualified, please complete the Consent to Disclose Eligibility to District's Local Aid Program Form and return it to the Gibson Ek bookkeeper.
If you have submitted a Free and Reduced-Price Meals application and did not qualify, please complete the Scholarship Eligibility Application form and return it to the Gibson Ek bookkeeper. This information will be used to determine your child’s eligibility for additional assistance. Scholarship applications need to be submitted annually.
Please contact Principal Tonja Reischl or bookkeeper Cathy Grizzel with any questions.
