Winter Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavioral Screening

This winter, schools will administer the Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavioral Risk Screening (SAEBRS) tool. Two kinds of survey tools will be administered at the elementary level: a student self-rating survey and a teacher rating survey. At the secondary level, only the self-rating survey will be administered. Gibson Ek will administer the survey on Friday, Jan 10.
These screeners help with the early identification of risk factors in students. The tools also inform social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons and other instructional practices in classrooms. Parents/caregivers of students who are identified as needing additional SEL support will be contacted by the school.
