This will be a new monthly spotlight where students share their projects and events or put a call out for project resources or expertise. Here are two upcoming events designed as part of seniors' Capstones:
Science and Conservation Symposium: Understanding Chinook Recovery Limitations. Gibson Ek senior Lars Hill's Capstone is partnering with the Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery to host a symposium with community members, stakeholders and local scientists about chinook salmon recovery on Sunday, May 3, noon-2PM at the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery Watershed Science Center. All who are interested in protecting the Puget Sound ecosystem are welcome! Snacks provided.
Student Experiences with Mental Health. Gibson Ek senior Alex Frederickson and School-based Mental Health Counselor Jen Noelke host a student panel discussing experiences with mental health and what they want parents to know. Monday, May 18, 5-7PM at Gibson Ek. Pizza provided!
