Dear Families,

Thank you for another inspiring year of creating, designing, exploring, and contributing to Gibson Ek and our community. I'm proud of the work our students did this year. They encountered and overcame obstacles while becoming more open, thoughtful, mature, and empowered through these challenges. Students' curiosities led them to take risks with their learning and their work, both on campus and in the community. Students saw problems, believed they could contribute to solutions, and set about making change. If every student graduates from Gibson Ek believing this, then our community is in good hands.

What's next? This dedicated staff is going to take some much needed time to rejuvenate, and then we're back in August to do our own creating, designing, and exploring. Staff always return with new ideas for meaningful labs and student projects, new community connections to ensure learning is relevant, and new ideas for improving our work in the areas where we know we struggle. Look for a Student & Family Guide next fall to help you better navigate this dynamic school, and some reorganization of the website in hopes that it can be a better resource of information. We're using feedback from this spring's Family Survey to continue developing what you identified as our strengths (project-based learning, internship program), while clarifying areas you had questions about (learning support, post-high school planning). And we continue to update the dashboard so families know how their students are doing and when they need support.

Thank you for being partners with us. I am grateful every day that I get to work with a community that trusts, supports, and inspires us as we do this challenging but important work. I look forward to seeing all of you again in the fall!

In Community,

Tonja
