Construction on Rainier Trail Dog Park begins January 12

The City of Issaquah is starting construction on the Rainier Trail Dog Park on January 12. This park will be on the east side of the Issaquah Community Center where the temporary dog park is currently. Construction will be happening immediately next to the Rainier Trail, with a few days of waterline work estimated to happen on Second Avenue while they connect to the water main on January 22.
The city team plans to leave the trail open as much as possible. If it needs to be closed for safety, they will offer an alternative route for students and parents who use the trail before, during or after school. Most of this construction will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to minimize disruption to schools when possible.
